It’s race day!

Today is the day! I’m so excited. I have my bib (personalized, no less!), I’m hydrated, I’ve had something to eat, and now I’m ready to get out there and go. I have to pick up Big Sis E and my nieces from their hotel, and I will have to do an additional stretch before the Royal Family 5K begins, but I’m feeling good.

I wish I could have had more sleep, but it was not to be. The Boy awoke at 2 – a good hour and a half before I wanted to get up – with myriad requests.

“Mommy, I can’t sleep!” (Okay, then get up, was my response, but he didn’t. Thankfully.)

Then about 15 minutes later…

“Mommy, I’m thirsty!” (Then get a drink. You have water next to you.)

“I can’t reach the water!” (It’s closer to you than it is to me.)

“But I’m so sleepy!” (So am I.)

To top it all off, at about 2:45, he kept calling for me.

“Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!!!” he cried in a half-whine.

I’d had enough. “What?!?” I snapped.

“I love you.”

Poor Cute Husband was understandably annoyed, but honestly, what was I supposed to do? If I go running into his room, The Boy gets exactly what he wants and I lose. If I don’t go into his room and resolutely refuse to get out of bed, Cute Husband gets angry and I lose.

I can’t win.

But at least I’m going to get out there, run a very pretty 3 miles through Epcot (that will include some hills inclines), and get a pretty cool medal for my efforts.

Plus I have a personalized bib. It doesn’t get much better than that.
