Fire Day 2011

Today was Fire Day at The Boy’s school, which meant that the local fire department came to the school and spoke to the kids about fire safety. I didn’t get all the details about it, but he did tell me that he got to sit in the back of the fire truck. He also said that he met some firefighters and learned “Stop, Drop and Roll” (he excused himself for a bit at dinner to show us the proper technique), and he told Cute Husband that he heard the siren and saw the flashing lights.

From what I could see from his teacher’s blog, the firefighters showed them all their equipment, too. It looked like a pretty cool presentation. I wish I stuck around to watch!

When I asked him tonight about his favorite part of his day, he said, “Meeting the firepeople and getting a fireman’s hat.”
