Yesterday at school, The Boy and his classmates went Trick-or-Treating to all the different classrooms. He brought back a sack of loot, but most of it was stuff I’d rather he not eat.
I let him have a cookie from the bag, and he told me about going Trick-or-Treating. He explained that he went to the door, opened his bag, and he got candy.
“But that’s not how you Trick-or-Treat,” I tried to explain. “Don’t you have to say something when you open your bag?”
“No!” he said with a vehement shake of his head. “Open bag, get candy.”
